This catalogue was published for the exhibition that the Kröller-Müller Museum dedicated to the sculptor Pearl Perlmuter (1915-2008) in 2003. With her expressionistic bronze sculptures, the American-born artist belongs to the vanguard of sculptors who embraced modernism in the Netherlands. In her work, expressiveness, robust and expressive form, and attention to material and texture go hand in hand with compassion and social engagement.
