With his golden Ashanti creations for Reine Poukou, Mickaël Kra made his breakthrough in the Parisian fashion scene while still in New York - after graduating from the Parsons School of Design. He soon became a sought-after designer for famous fashion designers such as Louis Féraud, Pierre Balmain, Jean-Louis Scherrer, René Mancini and also Alphadi and Katoucha. Kra is now one of the most important international jewelry designers. In his own haute couture collections, Kra contrasts the sensual quality of silver, molten glass, bauxite and terracotta with the beauty of human skin. In the tension between Parisian glamour and African tradition, opulent creations full of luxury, exoticism and eroticism are created.

The result is luxurious neck, arm and head jewelry, which is made in small editions by Bushman women in Namibia under his guidance: an outstanding example of global cooperation.
