Samenvatting	The exhibition catalogue of the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag in Rotterdam shows a most extensive collection of Javanese gold from the 7th and 8th centuries including museum artefacts and a private collection. The sagas and legends portrayed in the treasures, bear witness to the active role that the gods played in society. The books with many color plates includes a foreword by Stanley Bremer. This catalogue is published in association with the exhibition Goud der Godden in the Wereldmuseum in Rotterdam. For the exhibition shown in the catalogue, five sets of related sacred gold ornaments were displayed on specially made models. They represent Vishnu, Goddess, King, Queen, and Princess. All the gold pieces shown are ancient and were made to measure. Silver and gold paraphernalia and...
