Perhaps best known for his arresting celebrity portraiture, Gorman has also brought his playful, technically brilliant approach to successful advertising campaigns--such as the renowned award-winning L. A. Eyeworks series, for which he enlisted cult figures Divine, Grace Jones, Andy Warhol, Patricia Hearst, John Waters, and David Hockney--as well as numerous magazine layouts, album covers, and music video and commercial direction. Gorman has also earned an international reputation; exhibitions of his fine art photography have toured the world, and his work appears frequently in publications such as Detour, Max, GQ, Elle, Vogue, and American Photo.

Born in Kansas City and trained in photojournalism and cinematography, Gorman's most visible efforts are connected with the American entertainment industry.
